Welcome to Expressive Explorers!

Exploring Stories through the Arts

Training & development for early years practitioners

Expressive Explorers visit private day nurseries, pre schools, playgroups and schools to deliver fun, interactive storytelling workshops, which can be used as part of your staff training. Our workshops help your team to grow their confidence in using the performing and visual arts to build children’s interest in stories.

Our programme develops speaking and listening skills in an active learning environment and supports delivery of the statutory framework for the Early Years and Foundation Stage (EYFS).

Workshop Delivery

Expressive Explorers delivery is engaging and accessible to all children. In this workshop, there were some very shy children, but they joined in more over the as the workshop progressed and by the end of the story they had all learnt the actions to the song and many were also singing it.

The following week their teacher used our resources to continue exploring the story. They did vegetable printing, made sensory soup in the water play area and prepared vegetables to make their own real soup whilst singing the song. Parents commented that the children had been singing the song at home and asking for a saucepan, vegetables and a stone so they could pretend to make their own soup.
