Workshops can be delivered on different days throughout the year so if children attend on a different day, they should get at least one opportunity to participate. It will also ensure staff build on their knowledge and new staff gain insight into the style of delivery.

We recommend one workshop per month, or one per half term/every two months. Alternatively, we can deliver a one-off taster day, if required.

This depends on the age group of the children - as a guide we suggest the following:

• Age 0-2 - Ten
• Age 2-4 - Fifteen
• Age 5+ - Thirty

If you have a group bigger or smaller than this, please get in touch to discuss your options.

We can deliver to up to four groups in a day. Groups would receive a 30minute workshop and then take a 30 minute break whilst we deliver to another group, or have their 2nd 30minute session later in the day.

A suggested timetable might look like this:

• 9.30-10.00 Group 1
• 10.00-10.30 Group 2
• 10.30-11.00 Group 1
• 11.00-11.30 Group 2
• 11.30-12.00 meet with any morning practitioners who want extra support

Lunch

• 1.00-1.30 Group 3
• 1.30-2.00 Group 4
• 2.00-2.30 Group 3
• 2.30-3.00 Group 4
• 3.00-3.30 meet with any afternoon practitioners who want extra support

(Please note: under 2’s would just receive one 20minute session that could be delivered at the start or end of the day.)

A typical Expressive Explorers resource pack includes the following items:

An A1 durable Story Map

Resource Book:

• Suggested script with actions, mimes and ideas for keeping the participants active
• Song to accompany the story
• Movement activity
• Art Resources that include modelling, sticking and cutting, mark making & printing

Card resources linked to the story:

• 30 card cut-outs to decorate
• 30 cut-out card frames to use to display mark making

Eg. Three Bears, a Bag of Beans, Soup Cauldron and a Chicken (visit Our Gallery to see examples)

NB. we do not include flash cards or signs for displays as different settings use different fonts.

No, we can make the workshop fit your space, if you could move some tables to create a space so children can easily stand in a circle, then we can work with it!

No, as your staff will be involved in the workshop with their children.

If you'd like some staff to sit in on more than one workshop, you may need to do a bit of shuffling.
You are welcome to invite trainee staff into the session or, if your setting is part of a group, invite staff from other settings.
